Kit Mayer & The Pack

Formed in 2022, the band arose out of Kit and Jeff Sherin’s desire to expand on the sound they were getting while playing as a duet. They got together with their old friend Mark Denny on bass guitar and Paul Herber on drums and vocals to complete the combo. Since then they haven’t looked back and keep developing their sound and catalogue. In January, 2025 they released a new album of original songs by Kit titled Crow Sessions. This is a follow up to the recording they did as the studio band on Kit’s last solo album Everyday Road.

The Wisconsin Area Music Industry, WAMI Awards nominated the group as finalists for the folk-rock band of the year in 2024, recognizing their excellence. Their album Crow Sessions was a finalist for album of the year in the folk-rock category for 2025.

Since the release of Crow Sessions, Jeff decided to retire from the band and we welcomed guitarist Rick Paulson into The Pack. A long time pro who has been leading his own band in the region as well as playing with many others in Minneapolis, Madison and Texas.

On occasion, The Pack takes on other wolves for both recordings and selected live shows which have included: Mark Davini on Keyboards & Accordion along with Cody Appel on Piano, Hans Mayer, Karen Lee & Dodie Whitaker on Vocals, Josh Rabie on Fiddle, Jordan Cox on Clarinet and Mike Stidolph on Pedal Steel Guitar.
