Kit Mayer has been making and creating music since coming to the Driftless Region in the late seventies. Based in Lacrosse, Wisconsin he has been working in groups, duets and as a solo artist. He helped found the bands Blind Baby Olin & the Workbenches, Jawbone and The Mayer Brothers Band. His most recent group Kit Mayer & the Pack is a four piece combo made up of Jeff Sherin on Lead Guitar, Mark Denny on Bass, Paul Herber on Drums and vocals with Kit on Acoustic & Electric Guitars and Vocals. There are also solo performances as well as some duet shows with guitarist Jeff Sherin. All of his work has emphasized originality in both his style of playing and in the writing of his own music.

His latest CD with the band is called Crow Sessions, which came out in January of 2025. This followed his solo release of Everyday Road, also on Momentous Records that was released in August, 2023 and was recorded by Kit and the Pack along with some of the areas finest musicians.

Other CDs on the Momentous Label include: Kit Mayer, Stone’s Throw, recorded & released in December, 2021. Kit Mayer & the Careful Flies, Sporting Life a 2021 remastered version of his first recording and The Mayer Brothers Band, Stay Out of the Rain from 2017.
